After a southerly front and a couple of big frosts Inge and I decided to check Poolburn for ice. Good trip on dry roads despite the frost. The dam had new ice all over with only a little evidence of the previous freeze. New black thick enough for a good skate in the main bay. We were able to skate around the small island and some way out before the cracking ice turned us back. Fab late season skate.
